Successful Ignition of Nigeria Obajana 6000t/d Clinker Cement Production Line 5
Dangote Cement Plc., Nigeria Obajana 6000t/d clinker cement production line 5 contracted by Sinoma International (Nanjing) Engineering Co., Ltd. and constructed by Sinoma (Suzhou) Construction Co., Ltd. is successfully ignited at 10:18 a.m. local time, May 14,2020，which marking the project transiting from the construction stage to the performance guarantee stage.
The production line is located in KOJI state, central Nigeria. It is the third complete clinker cement production line of Dangote after the completion of production line 3 and 4. After the production line start operation, the plant will become the largest clinker cement production base in southern Africa that with five 6000t/d production lines. It will not only play an important role in boosting the local cement production capacity, strengthening the supply of basic building materials and providing more jobs, but also promote the export of cement clinker, increase foreign exchange income and boost the national economy.
In the process of construction, the project management department united and led all the staff to tackle the difficulties head on and fight bravely. They have overcome adverse natural environment factors such as hot and dry, rain a lot and moist in rainy season and mosquito infestation, as well as serious shortage of production factors such as natural gas, coal and electricity, scarce supply of living materials, and unfavorable objective conditions such as delayed arrival of equipment and materials due to time-consuming customs clearance. At the same time, the project is also faced with the sudden difficulties caused by the epidemic, such as the shortage of labor force and the absent of professional engineers from equipment manufacturers for commissioning. Under the premise of strictly doing the epidemic prevention work, all the project members worked together to overcome the difficulties, took the initiative to complete the construction and commissioning work as scheduled, and finally achieved the target of ignition on schedule, winning high praise from the owner.
The successful ignition of this project is a milestone for Sinoma and Dangote to successfully implement the third round of projects, which lays a solid foundation for the follow-up diversified in-depth cooperation. During the epidemic period, Sinoma overcomes numerous difficulties and successfully achieves the ignition and putting into production of the project, which fully demonstrated the Sinoma's strong administrative capacity and combat effectiveness.
